Permission Slips is the guest artist series of the Permission publication. These beautiful, insightful, courageous, reflective pieces remind us that giving ourselves permission is an ongoing process, not a one-and-done act. The Permission Slips series is an opportunity for us to borrow some bravery from the women giving themselves permission and, by seeing ourselves in their stories, give ourselves the permission we’ve been waiting for.
Permission by Helen Morris
Permission
To be me
To live free
From the shackles
Imposed
Supposed
I rose
To meet beautiful thinkers
And those
Who lift me up
To soar
Again
And be me
HUGE thank you to Helen for contributing to Permission Slips and sharing her beautiful poetry!
